Spidi has been operating out of its Northern Italy headquarters since the late 70’s, and in that time it’s developed valuable connections to the leather tanning industry.
Slip on a Spidi Vintage jacket and that know-how becomes immediately apparent, because these jackets require zero break-in. And it’s not that they’re not up to spec— in fact they pass the rather stringent “AA” CE certification, which takes into account both armor placement as well as seam-burst strength and abrasion resistance.
The Vintage jacket is offered in three subtly different colorways—and for once the “all black” isn’t the clear favorite. The Brown/Ice features a subtle brown highlighted by striking white accents on the arms. The Black/Ice combo follows the same pattern, but also includes white paneling on the backs of the arms—this makes for an excellent added safety feature without going full high-viz.
Each jacket comes with uber discreet Warrior Lite elbow and shoulder armor. This is the same family of armor used as knee and hip protectors in Spidi’s motorcycle jeans—low profile, comfortable, and protective.
The jacket takes a Spidi Warrior back protector, which is sold separately. If you don’t already have a Spidi jacket, you won’t be able to use another brand’s back protector. Spidi uses a Velcro positioning system built into its jackets and its back protectors to offer fully adjust able back armor.
Complementing the premium leather shell is a soft full-cotton interior liner—which makes donning this jacket on like slipping into a fine suit jacket.
For cooler weather riding, snap in the lofted insulated vest to keep the your core heat from being sapped by crisp off-season weather.
