But in this case, the Striker 3 represents the steady culmination of tweaks and, sure, maybe a few factory changes, that together result in what—for yet another season—makes this one of the best vented summer gloves we’ve ever stuffed a hand in.

But why exactly did REVIT make a Striker 3, which is pretty much indistinguishable from the Striker 2? Who cares.

We’ve got this summer favorite in stock right now, in both men’s and women’s, in full size runs. And they’re fan-freaking-tastic for flowing air between the, ahem, fourchettes. Just spread your fingers on the bars a little and fresh air rushes right on in. On the highway, they’re like testing the temperature of a cold pool. And even in the city, the provide wanted relief. Perhaps as well as any vented summer glove we’d carry.

Note: there are plenty of crap mesh gloves with no armor and questionable provenance that we politely pass on carrying.

But the Striker 3 is no slouch in the protection department. In a notable upgrade between the original and the Striker 2, this threequell retains the supple “SeeSoft” knuckle armor of some other gloves in the REVIT lineup, notably the Summit 3 waterproof gauntlet. This is definitely the softest of the SeeSoft family—totally different material than the SeeSoft brand protectors. It also gets a double-goatskin, temperfoam-padded palm protector.

Throw in touch-friendly fingertip, a little reflective accent detailing, and not-too-obnoxious logos, it’s a winner. Pay no heed to the fact it’s all-black – that just makes it all the more perfect NYC city summer glove. Or any city where you’re not looking to sweat through your fourchettes.

This glove excels as a city glove, on the open road, or far from it, in the dirt. This glove is not super-short, but definitely not anywhere near gauntlet-length. Just long enough to avoid sunburnt wrists for those with a positive ape index.

The only thing it’s missing is a hard palm slier, like we’ve seen in another summer favorite – the Racer Guide Glove. But for the relatively lower price tag and slim, supple feel on the bars, this threepeat remains an eternal summer favorite.

* FIT NOTE: These run true to size on the trim side, like most Euro brands. If ever between standard S/M/L gloves sizes, go up a size.

We loved the original Striker glove, circa 2013. We also loved the Striker 2, which lasted a few seasons before mysteriously going missing in early 2018. The third in a series of anything can signal desperation. Read More Read More
