And we also love that this (relatively) slimmer-cut jacket doesn’t have all the extra bulk and surplus material of the rest of the full-featured KLIM adventure jacket lineup— while every other KLIM jacket comes in S/M/L/XL sizing, the Kodiak comes more tightly graded sizing.

The Kodiak is, quite unapologetically, tied with the Badlands for the highest price tag—a cool $1,000—but we like it over the Badlands for everyday use because it packs pretty much all of the performance of the Badlands but is tuned slightly more towards the road-going end of the spectrum. 

Especially compared to the “all off-road/all the time” outlook of the Badlands, which is covered in so much abrasion-resistant Superfabric material it creates an crinkly, alien like fabric feel that itself is stiff and abrasive to the touch. Seriously, watch out because Superfabric acts like 100-grit sandpaper around motorcycle paint and bodywork.

But the Kodiak’s agro tendencies are nicely muted with a generous heaping of goatskin leather overlays at the shoulders, elbows and forearms. 

The Kodiak is cut slimmer throughout the body, and the matching pants are far less roomy, but still generous enough to fit a proper ADV boot, like a TCX Drifter or Sidi Adventure 2.

 SIZING NOTE: The Kodiak comes with nominal numeric sizing in the Euro standard which is American sizing +10. If you’re normally a 42US, try the 52.
