As if the thick 1.1mm cowhide wasn’t enough, these boots are lined with John Doe’s XTM Fiber, a blend of Cordura and Kevlar—meaning it’ll take a chainsaw to cut through these boots.
The ankle, heel cup and toe box all are reinforced, too.
What the Iron boots are not (nor are any John Doe boots) is waterproof—and that’s a good thing. Not if it rains, of course. But on the sunny and probably warm days, whether you’re putting in miles on the bike or on foot, these boots won’t heat up like a true waterproof boot will.
They’re still plenty water-resistant, thanks to thick oiled leather sole and a gusset on the tongue that’ll dissuade the influx of water.
Offered with a classic crepe white sole, the Iron Boot comes in brown or black, both with a tooled leather shifter patch, an oil-resistat and a vibration-dampening sole.
Note: the Iron Boot in now also offered in an all black "2.0" version, with a black upper and black lugged sole.
Like all John Doe’s products, these boots are made in Europe. In this case: Portugal, which has a rich tradition in hand-made boots.
