This product is offered in three subtly different configurations. The two green units are offered in the option of either dual standard USB-A outputs, or a combo USB/USB-C.
The third option, in black, comes with USB-A and USB-C outputs, but operates slightly differently as the volt meter can be toggled off with the integrated switch.
With the green units, the LED Volt Meter stays lit when the unit is on, and when the switch is toggled off, not only does the LED readout turn off, but it also stops delivering power.
Why the difference? If you're using a Peak Design charging mount and you don't have USB-C power that's keyed to your ignition, you'll want the option to turn the unit off to keep it from draining your battery when not in use, and to modulate what is a very powerful charger that doesn't have an off switch of its own.
So the green unit equipped with USB-C, you can toggle off the power to use the phone as just a phone mount without having the supercharger turned on all the time.
Why would you ever want the black Ridepower brand unit? If you are OK with the unit being on whenever it's plugged in, but want the ability to toggle off the LED readout, then this one is for you.
Note: Only the green units come with a bracket to mount to the handlebars, but we prefer to keep it tucked away, anyway, under a seat if possible. Also included is a 1-meter long SAE-to-SAE extender.
If you don't already have a battery tender SAE lead on your bike, we sell them separately. The leads also come included with the purchase of a Battery Tender Jr.
