The Eclipse is built from abrasion resistant polyester 600D material at the high-stress areas, which is sturdy, but gets only a single-A rating, meaning the material, in a lab, is good for 25mph, but not 45mph.
This is still an excellent pick for urban riding, or suburban streets, or maybe mellow country roads. As always, extra layers will improve your personal safety rating.
What’s that keloid on the shoulder? That’s a raised plastic “Rev’It!” logo, masquerading as shoulder slider. As with most of Revit’s logo placement, we could do without it, but all in all, the Eclipses’ lightweight chassis and well placed Knox Microlock armor make it an eminently easy jacket to wear around town on even the hottest days.
Easier yet - it comes in an expanded range of good-looking color options.
While many of REVIT's urban pieces, such as the Tracer and Worker shirts, come with the uber thin/flexible Level 1 REVIT armor, but we appreciate the more basic Knox armor here. It's also rated CE 1 for impact, but because it's thicker, it adds some healthy beef to an otherwise skimpy summer jacket.
The fit of the Eclipse is true-to-size, maybe a touch on the Euro-Slim side, and is meant to be worn over just a t-shirt.
As with all REVIT jacket, they take a size-specific Level 2 Revit SeeSoft RV back armor, sold separately.
