This latest redesign of KLIM's premium touring jacket is packed with features to tackle the biggest journeys in comfort and style. Whether you’re navigating unpredictable weather or relaxing après-ride, this jacket adapts to your needs with its innovative design.
Following the proven KLIM playbook, the Kodiak is based on a 3-Layer Gore-Tex Shell, that's reinforced with Cordura and leather overlays to give it strength for tackling any trip, off-road or on.
A full goose-down insulating layer is wholly wearable on its own, and if you're battening down the hatches for cool-weather mileage, might as well zip on the generous storm collar to keep icy wind firmly locked out.
For warmer weather, ditch those accouterments (the down layer packs down tight into its own pocket), and open up the many vents to regulate rider temperature.
The Kodiak has no fewer than eight zippered vents—two at the biceps; two at the forearms, two on the chest, and two massive exhaust ports.
Major upgrades from the old Kodiak jacket include flexible adjustment points, mobility-enhancing stretch gussets, and an optimized material layout that ensures all-day comfort on extended rides.
In fact KLIM got a little carried away with the stretch-gussets, and making this jacket comfortable for long hours on the bike, and this jacket actually flunked the AA CE certification test on a technicality. But we wouldn't hesitate to put this (technically A-only jacket) up against any of them. It's built like a proverbial brick outhouse and inspires confidence the minute you put it on.
Unlike KLIM's other jackets, which are offered in American-cut T-shirt style sizing (Medium, LG, XL, etc), the Kodiak is offered in greater increments, and comes with a slimmer "Euro" cut, with European denominations. Basically, just subtract 10; so a size 52 is actually a U.S. 42, a 54 is a 44, etc. If between sizes, go up, unless you've got an extremely athletic build.
The Kodiak is optimized to be able to fit the generously thick down jacket underneath, so factor that into your size calculations.
This jacket won't fit everyone, but you'll be happy if it fits you as we think it's one of the better cut, better looking touring jackets available today.
The Kodiak Jacket is the perfect balance of rugged performance, thoughtful design, and refined style. Whether you’re exploring the city, braving the elements, or carving through mountain passes, this jacket has you covered.
Pair it with the Kodaik Pants for a full zip-together touring suit that lacks for nothing.
