The devil is in the details, and this new design represents a wicket improvement over the older generic ram system.
Even though the RAM base ball kit is only 1/8-inch larger diameter that the original 1-inch RAM ball, it affords a whole lot more grip.
Raised ribs running the length of the new Doubletake 2.0 extension arms help provide rock-solid grip, and an offset, extended-length thumbscrew provides just-enough-more leverage over the old RAM design to make mirror adjustments effortless and secure, every time.
And because the Doubletake ball base has an aluminum core, it doesn't crush like the old RAM balls could if too much force is applied.
3.5-inch arm specs
- Length eye to eye: 3.5" (90mm)
- Length overall: 4.5" (115mm)
- Arm weight (Grams): 70 grams
- Material: A380 Die Cast aluminum
6-inch arm specs
- Length center to center: 6" (150mm)
- Length overall: 7" (178mm)
- Arm weight: 150 Grams
- Material: A380 Die Cast aluminum
Better hold, less effort. The whole system has been engineered together to keep the mirror from moving, except when it has to in an impact.
Longer Length. The Doubletake Arm 6.0 is 15% longer than anything else on the market, offering great visibility especially around luggage.
Radial Ridges. The clamping surface at the base has radial ridges to hold the ball more securely. These ridges prevent the arm from unintentionally rotating relative to the base, but without mechanical interference that could be damaged under impact.
Asymetrical Clamping. Because the ball diameters are different, the clamp is located off-center toward the mirror. The larger base diameter creates more stiffness at the bottom, and the offset clamp grips the mirror tighter to equalize rigidity.
Easy Adjustment. Our low profile thumb nut is 25% longer to make adjustment easy even wearing gloves.
Compatible. Mirror end 1" socket works with any 1" ball accessory (GPS, Go Pro, Peak Design Mount, etc). Requires Doubletake ball kit for base.
