Whn you think of Belstaff, this is shape and style that first defined the brand. Yes it looks just like its ancestors, but this is the third time since selling Belstaff that this jacket has gone through a revamp, and this latest edition is a worthy sequel. Timeless British motoring style with some new twists.
The headline for this latest generation Trialmaster is that it is now AA rated along with the rest of the latest Belstaff motorcycle lineup we’ve added to our catalog. This will give serious riders a little more confidence that, besides the armor, there’s some real differentiation between the Belstaff fashion lineup and these motorcycle specific pieces.
This is a full-length jacket with a stepped zipper, meaning that when sitting astride a motorcycle the front will splay open to accommodate.
Like previous generations, it comes with a breathable/waterproof membrane hung between the waxed cotton shell and the tartan liner. You can actually see the liner looking through the brass eyelets at the bottom of the sleeve cuffs. These eyelets act as drains should any water get in there, and they’re complemented by brass breather vents under the jackets arms, to keep it from ballooning up at speed.
The jacket comes with a full belt that can be fastened to help further keep wind from creeping up it. When not being used it’s easy to tie the belt in a loose knot behind the back.
D3O LP1 armor is supplied for pockets at the elbows and shoulders, and there’s a zippered back protector pocket ready to accept a D3O Viper back protector.
To keep the rider warm when needed the throat latch can be done up, or tucked away when not needed.
Previous versions of this jacket were cut from a heavy 10oz waxed cotton, but this one is made of 8oz British Millerain technical waxed fabric that Belstaff says is even stronger, and is backed by a high-tenacity Nylon under the shoulder and elbow patches.
Features:
- 8oz waxed cotton
- Waterproof membrane between shell and tartan liner
- 4Pc D3O armor
- Pocket for optional D3O back protector – size Medium-Level 1 or 2 for Small and Medium jackets. Size Large-Level 1 or 2 for Large, X-Large and 2X-Large jackets.
- Reinforced Cordura panels at elbows and shoulders
- Corduroy cuff and collar
