Like the rest of the Kriega range, the US-5 attaches with Kriega Alloy Hook Straps.
Unlike its bigger siblings, which come with four straps with quick-connect buckles built into both the bags and the straps, the US-5 comes with a slightly different setup: two straps with a steel cam buckle in the middle and G-hooks on either end. They pass through webbing loops on the front of the US-5 and cinch down securely to subframe loops, an optional tank adapter, or another US Drybag.
Features:
- 5-liter capacity
- 100% waterproof main body
- 420D Cordura Lite construction
- HYPALON: abrasion resistant reinforcement
- DRYPACK: removable tape-seamed liner (white)
- 6061-T6 alloy fitting hooks
- Acetal ITW Airloc buckles
- YKK water-resistant side pocket zip
- Side access zip-pocket (water-resistant)
- Rear mesh pocket
- US Alloy Hook Straps included
- 10-year guarantee
- Dimensions: 11.8" H x 6.3" W x 3.9" D
The Kriega US Drypacks are built like 5-, 10-, 20, and 30-liter brick shithouses, respectively. Kriega has been making these unapologetically overbuilt, universal Drypacks for well over a decade, and the bags have a well-earned reputation for dead-simple functionality and ridiculous durability.
Say goodbye to bungee cords, ratchet straps hacks, or rain covers, these beautiful bits of kit come with everything needed to install onto any motorcycle and ride into any sort of weather conditions.
Plus, US Drypacks are modular. Stack them like Legos in up to a 70-liter combination. These packs offer incremental carrying capacity to the back—or tank—of any bike.
Construction
The exterior shell of these Drybags is made from Cordura 420D Lite and Hypalon—a hyper-rugged combination that’s stitched together so tightly, with such tough materials, that it’s thoroughly waterproof on its own.
But the real waterproofing promise of these bags comes from a wholly separate integrated liner—basically a seam-sealed water-tight bag-within-a-bag. Bonus points for that inner liner being removable for easy cleaning, and for the inner bag being white, so it’s easy to sift through your flotsam and jetsam. The liner can also be removed for easy cleaning.
Give this roll-top bag a couple turns and buckle it closed, and it can be confidently loaded with a laptop or any other delicate electronics and tossed into the nearest lake.
Mounting
A beautifully simple strap system helps keep these bags locked-down securely to just about any bike—or to a tank-bag adapter (sold separately), or to other Kriega bags via extra built-in anchor points on every Kriega bag.
Each bag comes with 4 sub-frame loop straps for creating on-bike anchor points that will live discreetly on just about any motorcycle. Once installed properly (cinched down, loop backwards through the buckle to lock the strap, then and cut/burn to finish) these anchor loops take up all of 1” of real estate on a sub frame bar, but still offer loads of pull-strength.
The bags themselves connect to these four anchor points via 4 corresponding 1” webbing straps—each equipped with a quick-connect buckle and tightening cam on one end, and an alloy G-hook on the other. The G-hook end slots into the subframe anchors, and the other end clicks into the female buckle on the bag. Cinch it down and voila—road trip time.
Thoughtfully, Kriega has even included little plastic keepers on its straps to help tidy up any loose strap-ends from flapping in the breeze.
The subframe straps work with almost all standard motorcycle configurations, but if you have a fairing-clad sport-bike, Kriega also offers adapter kits for a select number of specific applications, such as Ducati Diavel and Panigale
Quality Guarantee
We’ve stocked these bags since we opened in 2012, and we can count the number of warranty claims we’ve seen on one hand. If you want more reassurance, each one comes with a 10-year stitching and craftsmanship warranty against the worst you can throw at it. Recently these US (Universal Series) Drypacks got a minor update, and now feature genuine 420D Cordura Lite fabric construction. Without exaggeration, the best just got better.
Extras
- Each bag comes with four subframe loops, and G-hook straps to connect the bags to all four anchor points
- The 20- and 30-liter bags also come with shoulders traps and waist belts
