Kriega is known for its overbuilt and absolutely bombproof utilitarian motorcycle bags. For reference, see the universal US series drybags; the adventure oriented OS series, and a bevy of purpose-built motorcycle backpacks.
Dealing with the sheer girth of a proper full-face motorcycle helmet can be one of the most annoying parts of riding a motorcycle in an urban environment. For most of us, a good helmet costs a good part of a paycheck. It's one of the most intimate pieces of equipment a rider will own, and even with a way to lock it, one can be forgiven for not wanting to leave it on a parked bike in a public space. Carrying it can be a pain.
But with the Kriega Max 28, all these issues are solved.
This bag converts form a minimalist 22 liters of capacity to a full, helmet-swallowing 28 liters when the circumferential expansion panel is unzipped.
Just like all Kriega's drybag products, the Max 28 comes with a fully waterproof compartment that sits against the riders back. A removable seam-sealed white bladder bag rolls down tight to ensure that the laptop or whatever is in that one crucial pocket remains high and dry. The rest of the bag's main compartment remains voluminous, and can handle a change of clothes, a lunch, a case of beer, you name it.
A smaller flap on the very back of the bag opens up completely to reveal a number of small compartments for organizing everyday carry items like mail, pens, keys, and documents.
Both this smaller glove box and the full-length waterproof compartment remain accessible even if there's a helmet stowed in the main compartment.
Like all Kriega's backpacks this one gets the company's QUADLOC-Lite harness, which transfers weight from the shoulders to the chest and body, delivering all-day riding comfort, even with heavy loads.
- DIMENSIONS : 22-Litre 460(h) x 280(w) x 180(d) mm 18.1”(h) x 11”(w) x 7”(d)
- VOLUME: 22 - 28 Litres (1340 - 1700cu in) total capacity
