This tapered leg jean lines up somewhere between a straight-leg fit and a true skinny jean, and the stretch component of the Cordura shell makes it one of the most forgiving fits we’ve found. If at all between sizes, you might be able to get away with the smaller size, thanks to the added stretch built into the shell.
The pant features a full Cordura denim chassis (itself 4x stronger than standard cotton denim), and a top-to-bottom interior Kevlar liner for increased abrasion resistance.
While it’s not the No. 1 choice for summer city riding, the added insulating properties of the Kevlar make this a great option for fall or spring riding — or for any summertime riding that breaks free of stop-and-go traffic.
One of the main benefits of the Knox design is externally removable knee armor- by way of two nearly invisible micro zippers hidden in the interior seam. This means the unavoidably bulky Knox Microlock armor can be removed without dropping your pants around your ankles—thus avoiding potentially awkward situation in mixed company.
Also key to note, the jeans now pass the newly revised “whole garment” CE EN17092 standard, achieving a “AA” rating out of a total possible AAA – which is generally reserved for much more technical and/or full leather pants.
Sizing note: these pants come in even-numbered waist size variations, and some sizes are offered in short. The regular inseam is approx 33 inches—cut intentionally long for riding, and easy to hem.
