Each pair of cases comes with matching automotive-grade lock cylinders. Solid aluminum rails (available in black or silver) mounted to the case lids offer additional tie-down points, and they're strong enough to stand on, or be used as an easy handle for a passenger. Plus they help increase the structural rigidity of the system. The cases are lightweight and strong, and they won’t dent like aluminum panniers if, or when, the bike is dropped

The overall quality and integrity of the design is confirmed with a reassuring a whoosh of air as the top lid’s knife-edge silicone seal swings closed. 

The cases come with 5mm-thick powder-coated aluminum universal mounting plates, that will fasten to just about any existing rack. The cases themselves come with clever proprietary mounting pucks that notch into the racks, and are held in place by an oversized thumb screw that goes through the back of the case and locates securely into the rack.

*Note: for BMW dual-Shock airheads a special brakcet is required to space the plate out far enough to clear the shocks and turn signals.

Removal is simple: just open the cases, unthread the locating screw by hand, pull the cases off and walk away.

Acme also makes a helmet-friendly top-box liner, and a 44-liter liner that’ll work with larger BMW bags—all made in North Carolina. The cases themselves are injection molded in China from “Polypropylene Impact Copolymer,” which is lighter, more resilient, and generally better suited to the task than aluminum. Final assembly and QC is handled by company founder Scott Olofsen at ACME global headquarters outside Asheville, NC.

There is also an option to accommodate the offset exhaust-side racks of a BMW GS, Africa Twin, or second generation Triumph Scrambler. There is a $40 surcharge for the adapters needed to accommodate the offset rack setup.

Acme also offers an optional range of good-looking (and American-made) waxed-canvas bag liners, which can pull out easily, leaving empty cases securely locked to the bike in the parking lot. The Acme specific waxed cotton accessories are available separately here.

Total volume of the cases is about 40+ liters. If you're looking for liners, we recommend running a "44" liter bag in one side, which will take up the entire volume of the case, and a combo "33L" bag and a lid-mount top tool kit in the other. Or mix and match, or run your own tote or bag liners.
