The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2016: Team Union Garage NYC

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2016: Team Union Garage NYC

To offer something a little different this year we hosted an all-day full-sized rider + bike Photo Booth at the store. "Photo Booth" makes it sound automatic, but it was far from it. Luckily, we had professional studio photographer Ryan Handt to help make it all look easy. He also compiled this video for us. All the hard work was worth this 60 seconds of glory.

In the end we rattled through about 60 portraits -- about half the number as signed up for the team. Next year we'll streamline things and get more of your handsome mugs immortalized forever. Until then, here are 60-some standout Ladies and Gents who came out for the cause. And one final recruitment call -- fundraising is still open through the month of October. If you are unaffiliated, please join our team! Or if you can, please donate to our team! Here is the link: https://www.gentlemansride.com/team/UnionGarageNYC Every little bit helps! And if you were one of the portrait subjects, you can download a full version (and see outtakes) at this link. We're putting the finishing touches on another, very special film project related to this ride that will help make the point, but suffice it to say this is all for a very good cause. A startling number of Team members and others among the 700-some NYC riders have been personally affected by this disease. One in 7 men will develop prostrate cancer by the age of 75. And more than a half-million men die from the disease every year. Your donation promotes awareness, aids early detection, and contributes important research funding to help continue to increase survival rates.
