Top of the food chain; king of the hill...choose your best apex predator metaphor, and it rightly applies to the Revit Taurus winter gauntlet.

Simply put: this is the warmest conventional and most capable winter glove in our collection. As such, it’s worthy of a full breakdown to justify the rather exorbitant price rag.

The Taurus glove sports a two-layer design with an inner cuff that’s distinct from a sturdy 500D Teflon-coated (yes, that Teflon) Cordura shell. This lets the wearer to tuck the inner membrane under a jacket sleeve and the outer shell over the cuff, making a completely watertight and windproof seal that deflects cold air like an egg off an as-seen-on-TV frying pan.

The gloves are insulated with PrimaLoft with “Grip Control” – meaning the palm and inner-fingers is given a lighter coating of fluff to help preserve dexterity. A quality goatskin palm helps further the ability to feel your controls, while providing great abrasion resistance to boot. Bonus points for the sturdy palm slider, a great safety feature that, should you end up sliding down the road with hands instinctively splayed out in defense, your scaphoid will thank you for.

Not only do these gloves have generous knuckle armor, but the knuckle area is covered in a SuperFabric coating – making them even more impervious to passing asphalt.

Thanks to a Gore-Tex membrane these gloves are “Guaranteed to keep you Dry” – a superlative we still insist is impossible, all gloves eventually will let water in. But that said, the Taurus gloves will do as good or better a job as any.

Two straps help keep this battle gauntlet in place – a simple Velcro strap at the wrist, and larger flap-strap covering the gauntlet portion.

Like many of Revit’s gauntlets, this one offers the dual-action strap that can be a little confounding at first, but works great once you’re used to operating it. Basically it provides a simple cam buckle that tightens the gauntlet when you *open* the main Velcro strap, which you can then lock down over top. To get the glove off (this is what trips people up), there’s a second tab that relieves tension.

Once you figure out how to smoothly operate this Chinese fingertrap design, they become easy to slip on and lock into place.

Sundry other details worth a mention: 3M reflective, touch-screen compatible, visor wiper included.

Warm, waterproof, feature-packed and tough AF—the Taurus gloves are ready for anything.
