This wonder hoody is cut from abrasion-resistant Cordura Denim with a laminated waterproof membrane for repelling rain and wind. The shoulders and elbows are reinforced with an extra layer of REVIT’s house-brand abrasion resistant material.

New this year, the Stealth now comes with a removable synthetic down puffer vest that zips into the hoody, extending this utility piece’s range well into the “off-season.” In a pinch, the vest can be worn on its own, too.

The Stealth 2 is offered in all black and a very dark blue, and the fit is slightly on the slim side.

Gone are the 3M reflective stripes on the elbows, but the jacket retains a 3M stripe across the back. Plus it gets dual zippered chest pockets, hand-warmer pockets, and plenty of internal pocket storage, too.

It comes fully loaded with REVIT’s ultra-thin Seesmart house-brand armor at the elbows and shoulders. Both sets of CE Level 1 armor are removable, but they’re so thin they practically disappear once installed.

If anything, the removable armor feature is handy for upgrading the armor, not just removing it. While technically CE Level 1, slightly cushier (and also CE 1) D30 EVT XT armor provides a little more peace of mind, we find.

The Stealth 2 has a pocket for a :REVIT SEESOFT RV” house-brand back protector, which isn’t really soft, unfortunately, but it does offer Level 2 protection, and it’s smartly graded so that bigger garments (fitting humans with longer spines) get bigger/longer back protectors.  Sizes Small and Medium take an RV04; Large- X-Large take RV05, and 2X and higher take the RV06.

The Stealth also comes with a quick-zip to tie into any pair of REVIT pants, or any pair of riding pants fitted with an ever-clever REVIT Safeway Belt.

Sundry other thoughtful changes to the Stealth 2 over its predecessor:

1. No more knit cuffs or hem. This was a cool aesthetic feature, but in practice, these design elements soaked up water like a paper towel, negating the jacket’s otherwise solid waterproof bona fides.

2. The hood design has been vastly improved. Whereas before it had a simple snap designed optimistically to keep the hood from flapping around at speed, now the hood has a slick zippered gusset that effectively prevents the hood from turning into a noose-like parachute while at speed.

3. Gone thank god is the Velcro patch on the shoulder. Why that military surplus feature ever wound up on REVIT’s lineup of sleek urban pieces is a question only Dutch designers can answer, but it’s good to see the Stealth 2 get a less confused branding approach with a traditional logo on the sleeve. Would we prefer the metal REVIT logo on the shoulder was gone too? Yes. But it’s better than answering questions about the Velcro.
