The Standard R shirt comes with Sas-Tec Tripleflex Level 2 armor fitted at the elbows and the shoulders, and a ready-made slot for a Sas-Tec Tripleflex L1 back protector, which is sold separately and highly recommended.
Wear this shirt under an otherwise unarmored leather jacket, and you can feel very confident and well protected. Wearing the garment on its own obviously offers less protection, but the armor and Kevlar combination independently is enough to pass CE Level AA, meaning the material itself is rated for at least 45mph—making it very capable of tackling city commuting or country roads.
