But it’s not all just luxury—there’s also quite a bit of function to the design. The Brooklands 2.0 gets Cordura built into the elbows and shoulder for added abrasion protection. It comes stock with D3O armor in the elbows and shoulder and has a sleeve for a back protector*. Quilted elbows and shoulders provide a little bit of extra padding and a classic look.
For as capable as this jacket is, it’s still downright civilized, with rubberized lower buttons, and a thoughtful cotton cover built into the hem to further protect your bike’s paintwork from the aforementioned heavy metal buckles.
This jacket it cut from 8oz waxed cotton, which is distinctly thinner than the heavy duty Trialmaster Pro, and puts this jacket squarely in the city/commuter/casual category.
Fit note: compared to earlier slimmer-fitting versions of the Brooklands we've found this new model to fit more true to size.
*This jacket comes with CE Level 1 armor included at the elbows and shoulders, and a pocket for a back protector, which is not included. For the Brooklands 2.0 we recommend a CE Level 1 D3O Viper size Large.
