The Nitric H2O rain jacket is a fully-waterproof, motorcycle-ready rain layer. It packs into a handy carrying case about the size of a cantaloupe, and will quickly become your new best friend next time you’re out on the road and the sky decides to open up.
The non-PVC construction (read: less environmentally icky) is laminated for 100-percent waterproofness and also is equipped with an airy mesh liner to prevent things from getting clammy. The jacket, which is cut specifically to fit over a bulky armored jacket, comes with an easily deployable hood complete with elastic draw-string cinches—tuck it under a helmet for true monsoon riding, and stay dry when off the bike, too.
The hem also can be cinched down via adjustable elastic cinch straps, which helps prevent water from creeping up the backdoor. And to help dial in the optimum, flap-free fit, the Nitric jacket comes with Velcro adjustable tabs on the arms and an adjustable half-belt.
The Nitric is available in two color options—a standard black and an extra safety-minded high-vis. Unlike most high-vis options, this particular jacket keeps the neon contained to upper torso, managing to not scream “Crossing Guard!” while still adding valuable visibility. Throw in two massive exterior pockets, inside stash pockets and the included stuff sack for easy packing, and there’s not much else to ask for in a motorcycle-ready rain jacket.
