If you’re considering an over-pant of some sort, or don’t already have waterproof and/or armored riding pants—cover all your bases with this highly functional 3-season motorcycle pant.
The Factor 3 pants feature a waterproof shell with knee armor included and ready-made pockets for an easy upgrade to hip armor. The pants are made from 600- and 1200-denier cordura-like poly for abrasion resistance, with panels of 800D stretch fabric at key spots to aid in articulation. With a full-length thermal liner the Factor 3 is ready for chilly shoulder-season riding. When the mercury rises, ditch the thermal and wear the shell on it’s own. Preferably, wear it as an over-pant—over slimmer-cut jeans or a lightweight under layer to help wick away moisture—the pants’ mesh liner and twin thigh vents will help with regional nether cooling.
There’s no bones about it: like most technical motorcycle gear, these look like ski pants. (And in fact double well as such). But they’re better than most, with some subtle quilting details and a leather-like 1200D knee panel to impart a hint of style. As much as can be expected from a pant with saddle grippers built into the seat for rainy day traction and slivers of 3M scotclite reflective material.
But what they lack in on-the-bike/off-the-bike versatility, they more than make up for in pure unadulterated function. These pants have a high rise back for full coverage from the elements, and generous crack coverage. Plus a short connection zipper to tie into any REVIT jacket, or your jacket with the included zipper tab sewn in. The knee armor is adjustable to dial in the fit, for a $20 hip armor upgrade you’ve got yourself a very, functional go-to option for touring, highway cruising, adventure riding—you name it.
They’re a far cry from selvedge denim, but they’ll keep you dry, protected, firmly and comfortably seated and a whole lot safer in a slide than blue jeans.
These pants are made for walking. Walking right to the bike, getting on and going. These purpose-build motorcycle pants are game for a trip across country or, as an over-pant to be slipped into/out of, they’re fantastic around town options too.
