Picture your average double-knee carpenter pant, then ditch the hammer loop, tighten up the fit, add a Kevlar ass panel, and build-in knee armor. Now, meet Tom: a 13oz stretch denim pant that’s ready for the jobsite or the commute.
Is Tom perfect? No he’s got some deficiencies – like lack of hip armor, or Kevlar at the knees. But everything is a compromise and the Tom offers an uber-comfortable, all-day-wearable moto pant option that can still save your ass in the event of a slide. The double-knee 13-oz denim is a far cry from Kevlar, but for this pants intended application—city commuting, backroads cruising—the spec is in-line.
Like the Alpinestars Copper jeans and Dixon cargo pants, these pants come sized by waist only. If you take an extra-long or extra-short pant leg, you’re probably out of luck. The Tom Canvas pants can always be hemmed if needed, and the height of the knee armor is adjustable.
