The Truman is a classic enduro styled, vintage inspired waxed cotton riding jacket from RSD that was born to scramble.
Even without the armor, this jacket is no slouch. Especially considering the style/price quotient. Three bills buys you a good-looking, 3/4-cut riding jacket with a nice modern flair and sensible features. First up: vents! Two zippered arm vents are a lot more than most waxed cotton jackets come with. Plus, notably it comes with pockets ready to accept RSD’s 5-piece armor kit for a critical extra layer of protection.
Also note the zippered slash pocket at the chest, and the non-throttle arm pocket, for documents, toll money or a phone. The armor accents look cool, plus of course provide a nice added layer of abrasion resistance. It’s going to be nominally tougher than the other RSD textile jackets we carry—the Bronson and the Ramone—but it’s still a mostly cotton-based textile. It’s great for scrambling on secondary roads or around town, but a jacket better suited to crash in dirt than over pavement speeding by at 50-plus.
Like all Roland Sands Design jackets this one comes sans armor, but with pockets to fit the optional (and highly recommended) RSD 5-piece armor kit.
