RSD Jagger Jacket

RSD Jagger Jacket

Spoiler alert: we think this is the best jacket RSD has produced since it’s now-iconic Ronin jacket. It’s value packed, good for a wide range of riding conditions over multiple seasons, and packs a softshell taped-seam waterproof hoodie that zips in or can be worn on its own off the bike.

A simple yet sophisticated Cafe style jacket, the Jagger is constructed of a premium Matte Buffalo leather that is soft and supple yet still plentifully thick. Quilting is incorporated at the shoulders and kidney belt—just enough for an old-school styling nod, but not overboard.

This sturdy leather chassis comes with discreetly integrated zippered intake vents at the shoulders, and exhaust vents worked in under the bi-swing panel on the back. The Jagger—as does its women’s specific sister jacket, the Mia—features a removable and separately wearable waterproof/thermal layer.

Additional features include a mesh liner, a snap-back collar tab, generous inside pockets, expansion gussets at the hips for on-bike comfort, a forearm pocket for license and reg’, and all YKK zippers.

*Fit note, the Jagger is sized to comfortably accommodate the soft-shell hoody underneath, and as such fits a bit on the large side.

Armor note: This jacket comes with removable CE certified Knox Microlock armor pre-fitted at the shoulders and elbows, and has an armor-ready pocket for a Knox back protector. We highly recommend picking up the back protector—you can find it here.

Say it again: “Separately wearable layer.” It seems a simple concept but we’ve seen dozens of jackets come and go from various suppliers, and none have managed to produce an internal layer that can truly be worn on its own. Some have claimed to have delivered in this department before, but their liners feature vestigial zippers and awkward telltale tabs and snaps and over-reflective branding. Never before have we seen something that can truly stand on its own without leaving the rider looking like a hobo on a road trip who obviously forgot to pack civilian clothes. Finally, RSD has slain this dragon.

The RSD removable hoody is simple, black, discreet, and made of seam-sealed-waterproof soft-shell fabric that will stand up to a multiple winters’ worth of wearing on its own. Plus of course it will provide vital warmth and waterproofing while riding when it’s zipped into the jacket. There’s a super small tone-on-tone leather RSD logo sewn onto the hem, and god damnit it deserves to be there, because these guys deliver not just a separately wearable internal liner—but they even added in soft microfleece-lined handwarmer pockets.

And the Jagger delivers the protection of quality leather motorcycle jacket whith included shoulder and elbow armor armor, plus: ventilation for hot weather, a softshell hoodie for cold and rain, and a waterproof compartment keeping your device dry. All this, and it costs 25% less than the new top-shelf Signature Series Ronin and Clash.
