The Clash borrows a page out of Schott’s Perfecto playbook with an asymmetrical-zip design. Where the Ronin is a classic with a twist, this jacket’s a little harder-edged in its styling. Note the metal rivets built into the elbow panels—an old-school trick for sliding along asphalt. It’s also got some quilted paneling at the shoulders and back-belt area, giving it a tough, reinforced look with just a hint of medieval to it. (and not some silly Renaissance Fair grade of medieval, but a Night’s Watch in “GOT” defending-the-wall sense of the word).

Another way to say this is “Vanson Chopper” jacket. But unlike the Chopper, the Clash will break-in and be comfortable in a matter of minutes, not months—or more. The elasticated side panels on the side of the Clash, plus the thinnger grade leather, help in the comfort department, too.

Like the RSD Ronin, the Clash gets a number of well-thought-out pockets and pouches—see its two elastic hemmed stuff-pouches inside the jacket for holding pairs of gloves, or up to the size of a couple cans of bud, each It also gets two exterior zippered hand-warmer pockets, a vertical zippered chest pocket, and a right-hand forearm pocket for toll-booth cash. Like all Roland Sands Design jackets this one comes sans armor, but with pockets to fit the optional (and highly recommended) RSD 5-piece armor kit.
