Description

This new-for-2015 jacket combines classic styling cues like a café cut and quilted accents with modern technical features—such as ample venting, D3O Level 1 armor at the shoulders and elbows, and a full-circumference zipper for tying into either the matching Held Prescott pants. The jacket can also be zipped into any other motorcycle pant you already own and are willing to sew this jacket’s extra zipper tab into.

The innovative chest vent employs a retractable perforated leather wind flap that zips out of the way when not in use, and zips into the opposite side of the jacket when needed, then allowing the user to unzip the main zipper for extra airflow without compromising safety.  The Prescott also gets two zippered intake vents at the chest and two large exhaust vents at the back.

Two-position waist adjusters help cinch this jacket down when wearing minimal layers underneath, and expands to help accommodate layers during cooler-weather riding.

This jacket vents well, ties into matching pants, offers the protection of an armored full-leather jacket and is well styled to boot. The only checkbox it doesn’t notch is waterproofing—but pick up a $60 rain jacket and go ride. This jacket doesn’t come with a back protector but does have a sleeve for one. It fits a Size Large Viper Level 1 D3O back protectors—same as used in Aether Skyline and Robinson jackets

Sizing Note: To convert this Euro sized jacket to U.S., subtract 10. If you wear a 42 jacket (and have an approximately 42-inch chest circumference), try the 52 first, or a 54 if you need a little extra room as the fit of this jacket is slim/athletic.

Nomenclature note: Held actually calls this “The Pretender” jacket, but since that’s maybe the worst possible product name for a jacket that does a lot more than pretend, we’re calling it the Prescott jacket—the namesake of both a lovely riding destination in Arizona, and of the Held Prescott pants, which offer a corresponding zipper for turning this jacket into a full armored leather suit.
