While these sturdy European-built boots will do a lot to protect your foot should you happen to sandwich it between a 500lb motorcycle and the asphalt, they manage to perform such—ahem—heroics without looking like an overbuilt motorcycle boot.
The Hero GTX (the cousin to the brown, non-Gore-Tex Hero boot) comes in a classic black-colored full-grain leather, and has a reinforced toe and heel counter, and beefy ankle armor.
With the brown “WP” version has a full waterproof liner built in, the upgraded Gore-Tex liner in this black version will keep you all that much dryer, and through the magic of Gore-Tex, will breath better, too.
Other thoughtful features add to the boots’ high comfort level. A flexible accordion panel at the Achilles makes for easy articulation, while a side-entry feature allows the user to get the perfectly snug fit with the laces, then bypass the rigmarole of tying and untying with the easy discrete zipper.
*Note: If you're worried about that white contrast pop-stitching, don't. It won't stay that color for long.
