New Fall Riding Gear From RSD

Posted in: Product Review, This Just In

The apparel team over at Roland Sands Design has been working overtime and the results are evident in the latest crop of options coming from this SoCal apparel brand. For this fall riding season we’re bringing in some of the most exciting new styles to carry the RSD badge since the iconic Ronin jacket first debuted back in 2013.

In total we’re bringing in five new pieces for fall. They will be arriving in-store any day now, but we didn’t want to wait to get them up onto the website. They’re all available for pre-order now—and to sweeten the deal every pre-order gets a UG hat or T-shirt of your choice while you wait.

And it’s not just the updated styling that got our attention—RSD has put in time on the tech side of the equation, too. Abrasion-resistant material blends abound, such as in the 67/33 Kevlar/Cordura fabric used in the new Trent jacket, and the 30/70 Kevlar/Denim blend used in the main body of the new Hefe leather-textile hybrid jacket.

Both of these pieces are a big step forward for RSD. But the pick of the litter has to be the all-new sweet-spot Squad jacket. This classic flight jacket is made with a waxed cotton shell outfitted with stretch panels for proper mobility on the bike, a full Kevlar liner throughout, and a classic orange-satin liner to set it off.

This piece can be used on its own as a fully capable spring/fall city piece, or worn as a layer under a jacket of your choice on the highway or during the winter months.

An added bonus: all of these three new standouts come with molded shoulder and elbow armor included (with room of course for a RSD back protector.) In RSD’s other jackets, including the legacy leather pieces and the new Trinity Women’s Leather Jacket, shoulder and elbow armor remain a la carte.
