Ride Report: Two Wheels South

Posted in: Events, Ride Report

Join us this Saturday, April 22, 2017 for a live presentation by our friends Matias Corea and Joel Estopà, who are fresh back in New York after just completing an epic six-month journey from Brooklyn, NY, to the end of the Earth—Ushuaia, Argentina.

Riding 30-year old air-cooled BMWs the daring duo endured heavy rains, machete wielding locals and brief instances of utter mechanical despair. But they survived to also experience moments of motorcycling nirvana in mind-blowing vistas, out-of-this-world roads, a whole kaleidoscope of cultures and generally splendid bike performance.

And after 30,000 miles, surely they achieved some sort of serenity in the saddle. Come hear what they learned, didn’t learn, wish they knew before they left, and how the trip did or did not alter their perception of reality.

And Matias crashed. Spectacularly. And got it on video—to be shown for the first time on the projector screen here at the store with Matias and Joel narrating. For a preview of the presentation, see here for our “Halfway Down” interview with the boys while on the road.

Food and refreshments will be provided, as will ice cold beer thanks to continuing support from Sixpoint Brewery. For those who can’t make it, make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter to get an email update for livestream information, which we’re attempting to pull together for this event. But, as always, the best way to take in these #ridereportseries presentations is live, preferably with a cold Sixpoint in hand.

Space is limited so *please* RSVP if you plan on attending, and we hope to see you here.
